Lance Middle School is conducting its summer learning experience at Whittier Elementary (due to renovations at Lance MS this summer). This year’s learning opportunity will focus on connecting community with learning. We are using the novel SeedFolk’s by Paul Fleischman to drive the experience. As we dive into the novel we will begin to integrate literacy, math, science and social studies to explore how are learning is connected to community through hands on learning.

This year‘s summer experience will also give students a chance to experience learning outside of the classroom. Trips to Gateway’s gardens, the city’s community gardens, and the Shalom Center are being planned. Lance’s summer learning experience begins on Monday, June 19th and ends on Monday, June 24th. It runs from Monday through Friday from 8am to Noon. There will be no school on July 3rd and 4th. You can register online by clicking the link below and selecting “Lance.”

Please register early to ensure a place in class. There is no enrollment fee. We are pleased to offer this exciting educational opportunity to your child during the upcoming summer months. If you have questions regarding this program, please feel free to call Mr. Makowka at 262-359-2240.
