Student projects

Welcome to the Technology education web site for Lance. This year is set to be an exciting new year for students at Lance. We have just received new equipment for the lab, with this new equipment students will have the chance to explore many of the exciting fields of technology. Students will learn about robotics, flight, materials and processing, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operation, video and audio production, lasers, electronics, virtual architecture, CAD (Computer Aided Drafting), research and development, structural engineering, graphics and animation, power and energy, structural engineering and alternative energy. Each of these topics are presented in self-directed instruction that enable the students to explore and create projects on the topic. These "Action Labs" are provided by Paxton/Patterson and can be viewed by clicking on the link.

Students will also be working on graphics projects using Adobe Photoshop Elements, designing and building CO2 cars, creating rockets, performing an egg drop and using google sketchup.

The technology education class at Lance strives to create technologically literate students. Being technologically literate is defined as "the knowledge about what technology is, how it works, what purposes it can serve, and how it can be used efficiently and effectively to achieve specific goals".
